FAQ

The following are a few frequently asked questions from our clients:

Q: How can I be sure that I get my same diamond back if it leaves my sight?
A: Simply bring back the stone to us and we will re-examine the original report and "fingerprint" f the stone. If they match up, you can be sure you got the same stone back.

Q: How does the cut of a diamond affect its value?
A: Cut is very important. A diamond of modest quality, color and clarity but with a fine cut will look better than a diamond with high quality, color and clarity and a poor cut. Therefore, balance is important when choosing a diamond.

Q: How often do I need to update my appraisal?
A: We suggest every three to four years. Just bring us the original report and for a nominal fee we will update it for you on the spot.

Q: Are jewelry stores giving you an unbiased appraisal?
A: Since we do not buy or sell jewelry, you can be sure of an unbiased appraisal or report from our company. Our only function is appraising and providing reports for jewelry items.

Q: Is there such a thing as "Certificate Diamond"?
A: The term "Certificate Diamond" is a diamond with an accompanying Laboratory Report from a recognized Gemological Lab.

Q: Can my newly purchased diamond be mailed to me? And if so, how?
A: Yes, the diamond can be mailed to you via any major shipping carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc). Simply ask your jeweler to have the jewelry appraisal at our laboratory where we will seal the appraisal and jewelry with a closed package and company seal.

Q: What does Clarity Enhanced mean?
A: Clarity Enhancement is an artificial process for improving the clarity of a diamond. This may include filling fractures and cavities with glass/resin. Our trained professionals are able to detect any clarity enhancement within the diamond.
